How can I encourage students to advocate for themselves both within and beyond the classroom?
When students arrive at Ontario Tech, they work with Student Accessibility Services (SAS) to develop a process for implementing their accommodations. There are transition programs such as MyStart:Accessibility that help students develop these advocacy skills for the classroom.

When should students connect with instructors about accommodations?
Students should connect with instructors at the very beginning of their course; however, should circumstances change the instructor and student can connect with Student Accessibility Services (SAS) to determine the best course of action to ensure academic rigor and accessibility.
